September at Caviste is all about South Africa, as we embark on a month’s tour of this vibrant and exciting country, which has, in recent years, stormed onto the world’s wine stage.  With a winemaking history dating back over 300 years, huge regional diversity and a passionate new generation of winemakers, the wines of South Africa are complex yet accessible, refined yet powerful, and offer superb value for money at all levels.  We’re looking forward to introducing you to the best of South Africa, as we showcase our new discoveries and Caviste favourites with a series of free South Africa Tastings at both Caviste Overton and Stockbridge every Saturday (11am to 4pm) throughout September.

Saturday 27th September:  Chardonnay, Pinot Noir & Dessert Wines

To taste the best of the best, our Tulbagh Mountain Vineyard Tasting on Tuesday 7th October, hosted by TMV winemaker Callie Louw, brings together the wines of this top organic estate, described by Jancis Robinson as "a new South African star", and our selections from cult South African wineries such as Eben Sadie, Hamilton Russell, Klein Constantia and Boekenhoutskloof.  This is an evening walkaround tasting (7.30pm to 9.30pm) in our Overton shop with cheeseboard and South African nibbles – not to be missed at £20 a ticket.  To book, please call 01256 770 397 or e-mail info@caviste.co.uk.

WIN 2 FLIGHTS TO SOUTH AFRICA.....If you're a lover of South African wines, there may be an added reason to attend our TMV Tasting, as visiting winemaker Callie Louw will be selecting the lucky winner of our South Africa Competition.  Spend over £150 on South African wines cumulatively from 6th September to 3rd October in our shops, by phone and/or by e-mail, and you'll be eligable to enter our South Africa Competition to win two flights to South Africa, with a tailor-made intinery of winery visits during the trip.  You'll also be required to answer a question on South African wines and to complete a tie breaker.
